Why Yoga? I started practicing yoga by myself with a DVD in 2002. I came to yoga because I thought it would be cool, because I thought for some reason it would be like dancing and dancing was something that I love to do. It was nothing like dancing, really, but I found that I still loved it. Eventually I checked out a class called, "Power Yoga" and I loved it! I remember vividly my first "yoga moment" - in a seated forward fold listening to my teacher cue us all to 'reach our toes with our nose'...I found myself thinking that was an impossibility, but I also noticed at that moment I was grinning from ear to ear - I was experiencing pure joy in that crazy forward fold. From that moment on, I knew I had to find a way to hold on to that feeling.
Why Teach? My favorite quote is a quote by Ghandi - "Be the change you wish to see in the world". My own yoga practice helped me to feel like I was SUPER WOMAN; I wanted learn how to lead and teach others to have that same super-person experience. In 2009 I enrolled in YogaOne's 200hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training...In 2010 I began teaching...In May of 2013 I completed my 500hr Vinyasa Yoga Teacher Training. Yoga is something I live every day with passion and joy. I am so very blessed and fortunate to be able to do what I love for a living.
